  • Sean's birthday was on Monday, but on Sunday we went out to the Spit to "celebrate". We had a great family day together, very relaxed and  just a lot of fun. Sean likes to give everyone else gifts for his birthday, so he got the kids little foam swords from "Salty Girls", a really cute store next to the Salty Dawg.  He had also just given me a pink Salty Dawg sweatshirt from there on Friday.  He got the kids some ice cream from  Spit Licks and we got some coffee from Kbay Coffee.... we tried to fly a kite, but unbelievably, it was not windy at all!!! the one day its not windy and you want it to be.... but it was a nice day.

  • Our neighbor Mama Moose and twins coming to visit

Can you see the cat right behind the reflector? He was just sitting there taking it all in. We named him Fearless because he used to chase moose, but now he just sits there and watches I guess.

Mama had her tongue out. Funny.

Here are some pictures from the last month or so.

Anneka visited some cousins and they all had 2 wheel bikes, no training wheels and Anneka really wanted to ride, but hadn't ridden without training wheels. the funny thing is here she was so scared, refused to try without, and I guess she saw everyone else doing it, so off she went. the next day she wanted a wrench to take off the trainers and off she went, riding 2 wheel, just like that!

A sunny, but still fairly cold day.The kids wanted to get their swim suits on and play in the sprinkler. Brrr...  Angelena was so happy she could be like the other kids in her cute suit and flip flops.

  • Okay I will try to blog more than once a month!

a summary of our last month: pretty good!

Farmers Market has started up, and is going really well. I am once again totally loving it. It's a very cold summer though so we have to really bundle up.  A friend and I started a new recycled line we are calling Reincarnations. super fun stuff.

Sean and I are going to counseling which we are actually really enjoying I wish we did years ago. It is very positive, we are really enjoying our counselor. Lots of positive changes for both of us.

Our church is dissolved. Our pastor was having an affair and when we decided to call him on it, before we could even have the meeting (he knew it was coming) he said I am closing the church. He was pretty dishonest and basically bs'd his way through it, and we are not being bitter or anything, it is what it is. We were feeling pretty done with church before we went to this church, we felt like we met some good friends and now, well, it was all a very crazy thing I could go on and on about but wont :) We are just feeling that while we are not rejecting God, we are pretty done with fundamentalism and legalism and everything that goes with the whole churchy thing. Some good friends and us are still getting together on Saturday nights so I don't feel like we are being neglectful.

Okay, melt down kids... its lunch time so I will write more later, and post some pictures hopefully.

  • Okay I said I would be back to write.. it's terrible, once I get out of the habit of writing to friends or on my blog, its so hard to get back into it, not sure why, because I like to stay connected.

I did have to add this for posterity though, however embarrassing it is.

For whatever reason, I was absolutely exhausted yesterday. The baby has finally been sleeping pretty well, Sean actually has been taking care of her at night for me because I don't want to go insane again. I feel guilty, but she is happy and Sean says its not that hard, so it seems to be working for everyone. ANYWAY, I woke up at 5 just fine, went to the gym, rode the bike, did strength training and a new yoga class, all by 7:30 am. Maybe thats why I was exhausted lol.

So, I was nursing the baby in the recliner and fell asleep for a bit, till the kids discovered I had fallen asleep then proceeded to shout at me to wake up.   Which was fine, but I think even while sleeping I am like a cat, always kind of knowing what is going on around me. I didn't need the shouting.

Okay I take back the cat thing.... later, I was in my sewing room, I am rolling up and marking all my fabric, which is a huge job, I thought it might take a couple hours.. and days later I still have huge piles not even done. The kids were all in there with me playing quietly and drawing and stuff and I laid my  head down "for a second" and apparently passed out, again. The kids I guess went upstairs and got into our *ahem* bedside drawer   Anneka comes down, calmly, stating that Atticus and Angelena were in my "stuff". I said "What stuff?" and she said "I don't know what it is, just your stuff". Atticus is behind her and says "it tasted like soap".   I go up and find Angelena sitting there on the floor playing with a spermicide wrapper.   I looked on the box and it says call poison control right away if swallowed. I assumed, since Atticus told me it tasted like soap, that it was swallowed. I called, much to my embarrassment and he said the worst that would happen is a tummy ache. Can I crawl in a hole now?

Later, in the afternoon, I told the kids to stay in their rooms for quiet time, shut the doors and gate and told them I would lay down a bit with the baby. Well, I guess I really conked out.... because I got up, and Atticus' hair and face is covered in chocolate. Anneka once again informs me that Atticus ate the chocolate ice cream, that sean just bought the night before. There were only a couple scoops taken out of this half gallon of ice cream, as of Sunday night. I went downstairs, thinking, well, Atticus must have just gotten a spoon and eaten it out of the freezer, as he has done before, maybe a few spoonfuls. I looked in the freezer, it was not there. I looked in the garbage, it was not there. I asked where it was, Anneka tells me its in his room. I go up to his room and there is the container, almost empty with 2 large serving spoons next to it. And he was trying to hide it behind his bed. Lovely.   It was our nice expensive ice cream too.   So, it was about a 15 dollar day yesterday, combined. Expensive sleep!

No more falling asleep for me! I am sure one day I will look back and laugh... but today is not that day
